Castle Creations — speed controllers and power electronics for brushless systems

Castle Creations is an American manufacturer based in Kansas, specialising in electronic speed controllers (ESCs) for brushless motors and the power electronics around them. It is best known for the Phoenix Edge and Talon families and the CC BEC regulator series. A defining characteristic is how deeply the products can be configured: through Castle Link software you can set the acceleration curve, timing, low-voltage cutoff, braking and current limits, and change the BEC output voltage in software rather than hardware. Most controllers keep an internal data log that can be pulled after a flight — a meaningful diagnostic tool in experimental systems and lab testing.

  • Talon controllers from 15A to 120A, for 4S to 12S battery voltages, with a built-in BEC rated 7A to 20A.
  • Phoenix Edge and Phoenix Edge Lite controllers from 50A to 200A for 8S, with a 5A BEC.

  • External regulators: CC BEC 2.0 (including a waterproof version), CC BEC 10A for input up to 25V, and CC BEC PRO with output up to 20A and input up to 12S.
