BotBlox — miniature, ruggedised Ethernet switches for robotics and mobile systems

BotBlox is a British hardware company specialising in Ethernet switches and compact networking components for embedded systems, robotics and unmanned aircraft. The problem it solves is a clear one: standard industrial network switches are too large and too heavy for a mobile platform, and they rely on RJ45 connectors that do not survive vibration. BotBlox switches are built on boards a few centimetres across, using miniature latching PicoBlade and PicoClasp connectors instead of RJ45, and some specify a very wide temperature range (-50°C to +110°C on the GigaBlox Rugged). A significant part of the catalogue is marked NDAA Compliant — a designation covering component sourcing that is sometimes required in institutional and defence procurement.

What we supply from BotBlox

  • Miniature Gigabit switches: GigaBlox, GigaBlox Nano (one inch across), GigaBlox Rugged for extreme temperature range and GigaBlox SFP with 6 ports and an SFP slot, alongside PicoConn and RJConn versions.
  • Fast Ethernet switches in the SwitchBlox series: SwitchBlox, SwitchBlox Nano, SwitchBlox Industrial and NDAA Compliant versions, including a dedicated ArduPilot version and a matching cable adapter.
  • 10G systems: UbiSwitch modules with 3x 10GBASE-T and 8x 1GBASE-T ports (including heatsink), UbiSwitch baseboards and UbiSwitch Baseboard Mini, a 10G copper SFP module and an RJ45 coupler for 10GBASE-T.
  • Single Pair Ethernet: SPEBlox (1GBASE-T1) and SPEBlox-Long (10BASE-T1L) for 10Mbps at up to a kilometre over a single wire pair.
  • Power and further modules: PoEBlox — a compact 360W PoE switch, GigaStax Rugged PicoConn and Puck Mini.
  • Cables and adapters: PicoBlade and PicoClasp to RJ45 in 4 and 8 conductors, flying-lead cables, and 37-pin MIL-DTL-83513 rectangular connector cables 400mm long.

Who it is for

  • Drone developers carrying IP cameras, LiDAR and mission computers over a single Ethernet network on the aircraft.
  • Mobile robots and AGV/AMR platforms where vibration and shock rule out ordinary RJ45 connectors.
  • Industrial control and remote sensing systems that must carry data over long distances on minimal cabling, using Single Pair Ethernet.
  • Institutional and defence procurement where NDAA component-sourcing requirements apply.

Anyuno supplies BotBlox products in Israel, including the switches, modules and the accompanying cable system. Before purchase we are glad to help select a switch by port count, line rate, supply voltage and connector type, and to match the cable system to your platform. Warranty claims are handled by us with the manufacturer. For enquiries and institutional procurement: sales@anyuno.com
