LightWare — lightweight laser rangefinders (LiDAR)

LightWare is a laser rangefinder manufacturer based in South Africa, focused on what it calls microLiDAR — rangefinders weighing only tens of grams, intended for integration into unmanned aircraft and mobile robots. The sensors measure the time of flight of a laser pulse and provide high sampling rates over common digital interfaces such as I2C and Serial, which allows direct integration with flight computers running ArduPilot or PX4 for height above ground, automatic landing and collision avoidance. Alongside the single-point sensors, the company also develops scanning models that return a distance map across a horizontal plane.
